What is a Reputation Record?

A Reputation Record is a structured, permanent record of a person or business's behavior — built from identity-verified reports, attached evidence (screenshots, receipts, video, witness statements) and a continuously computed trust score. It is not a review, a social media post or a complaint thread.

How is this different from a review site?

Accepted Answer

Review sites accept anonymous, self-published opinions with no verification. Every report on RRSource is filed by an identity-verified reporter who holds their own Reputation Record under the same reciprocity rule. Reports carry structured evidence and can be formally disputed, with the outcome permanently recorded — reviews typically offer none of that.

Do I need my own Reputation Record to view someone else's?

Yes. Viewing a full Reputation Record requires having your own — a reciprocity rule that keeps the network mutually accountable instead of a one-directional lookup tool. A logged-out visitor sees an identity-only preview; a logged-in visitor without their own record is prompted to create one first.

Can someone dispute a report filed against them?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Subjects can formally dispute any report through the resolution process. The outcome is written to the record's permanent timeline, and if a dispute is resolved in the subject's favor, most of the score deduction from that report is restored.

Is video evidence live-recorded or uploaded?

On RRSource, supporting video is upload-only — MP4, WebM or MOV, up to 50MB. There is no live webcam recording in the RRSource report-filing flow.

How is the trust score calculated?

The score is recomputed from the full report history every time a record is viewed, not stored as a fixed number. It grows over a clean track record, drops when new reports land — more sharply when they carry evidence or multiple witnesses — and partially recovers when a dispute is resolved in the subject's favor.

What happens if I don't know someone's Reputation Record ID?

Accepted Answer

If the person or business you're reporting doesn't have a Reputation Record yet, you can still file a public report through BadMarket.ng's own complaint form — it won't be attached to an RR profile or appear in RRSource search results.

Is RRSource affiliated with BadMarket.ng?

Accepted Answer

RRSource is the enterprise search and verification layer built on top of the BadMarket Reputation Engine. BadMarket.ng is where community reports and evidence originate; RRSource turns that verified data into searchable, enterprise-ready Reputation Records.

Can enterprises integrate RRSource into their own systems?

Accepted Answer

Programmatic API access for enterprise partners is in development. In the meantime, employers, landlords, insurers and other institutions can search and view Reputation Records directly on rrsource.com.
